TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS
SELECTION FOR EVENTS - CHANGED
In line with the change of LTA Tournament Regulations in April 2010, events will now be filled based upon players ratings and then rankings. We will endeavour to try and fit as many players into an event as possible, and in some cases creating a qualifying event for lower rated players.
From the reserve list, we accept entries based upon highest ranking first up to the draw date. If there are spaces in the draw after the draw has been made, we will accept late entries into the event provided they would not have been seeded should they have entered at the time of the draw being made.
For a draw of 8, we appoint two seeds based upon the current LTA rating. If two players have the same rating, we then compare the national ranking in the age group being competed at. If this is not possible for Mini Tennis, then we would use the County Champions Race position.
DRAW
The draws are done after the closing date. This is automatically done by the Tennis Tournament Planner software with seeding as decsribed above and club separation in first round. The draws are published as soon as possible.
Parents / friends will be asked to score matches in our Mini Red and Mini Orange events. Please have a look at our Scoring guides for more information on this
On top of these, we particularly wanted to point out the following new LTA rules.
1. Entrants (also agreed by parents or guardians) agree to particpate in doping control procedures if selected, undertaken by an independent sampling officer (ISO) appointed by UK Sport
2. Entrants (also agreed by parents or guardians) consent to him/her being involved in any publicity connected with the LTA Staged Tournaments, including media interviews, photographs and TV footage. Please inform tournament organiser if you do not wish to be involved in publicity
3. Entrants (also agreed by parents or guardians) consent to the details provided on the entry form to be used to update the LTA Advantage Club Membership record for the person identified.
4. Entrants (also agreed by parents or guardians) consent that the LTA and or LTA Sanctioned Tournament organisers, from the entrants geographical area, using details provided on the entry form to communicate information about this and future tournaments, in the entrants geographical area, via post/email or SMS
5. The Latest withdrawal date for the event is one week before event start date. Withdrawals after this date will be subject to refund (whole or part) at discretion of the Tournament Committee. The reason for an early withdrawal date is to ensure that information provided to entrants about qualification for ranking points is accurate.
6. Refund of on-line payments will be made as credits to future events or subject to a transactions charge by the service provider PayPal. Typically this will be the loss of the £1 extra cost for paying online.
